Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, James Wan, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II were present in Las Vegas during Warner Brothers presentation at CinemaCon and wowed the crowd with some rough unfinished footage from Aquaman and then answered questions.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
James Wan’s Aquaman made a splash at CinemaCon when the first footage for the DC standalone played during the Warner Bros. presentation Tuesday.
“I didn’t want to bring anything, but they made me,” said Wan before footage hit the screen.
Star Jason Momoa was on hand in Las Vegas, as well as co-stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. “You are the best fucking Batman,” said Momoa to Will Arnett, the Lego Batman voice star who was acting as the presentation’s emcee.
Wan made it clear that the footage shown was not an official teaser and was just a work in progress — but even so, this was this was the first glimpse from the film, as no teaser has been released. The footage included Momoa’s Aquaman pulling a submarine out of a water, what appeared to be shark horses, and vistas of Atlantean skyscrapers.
The villains of the film also briefly appeared, including Abdul-Mateen’s Black Manta and Wilson’s Ocean Master.
There were also plenty of choice one-liners, including: “I’m a blunt instrument, and I am damned good at it.”
