Fans hoping for a fourth season of the Jason Momoa starring Frontier are going to be disappointed if recent comments from an actress on the show are to be believed.
The historical drama, from Netflix and Discovery Canada, centers on the rough and often violent North American fur trade of the late 18th century and the Hudson Bay Trading Company. The cast includes Jason Momoa as Declan Harp, Alun Armstrong, Zoe Boyle, and Landon Liboiron.
Canadian actress Jessica Matten plays Native American Sokanon. She has been on the show since season one. Matten recently participated in a podcast with fellow actor and director Adam MacDonald called “Canadians Talking Sh*t”. She posted about the show on her Instagram account about a week ago.

THANK YOU for the love and support my friends! ❤️ FOR REAL. Means alot. Thank you to the ever awesome & talented @_adammacdonald for interviewing my ass on your podcast. Listen to: Canadians Talking Shit. 🖤🦅➕ We talk about “Frontier”, my new TV show “Tribal” coming out on @aptn as well as politics, quantum physics, life, working in South Africa, Lemon Cree and working with the Indigenous Youth. 📺
It was widely reported that she made the comments about Frontier‘s cancellation during the podcast, but we listened to it and she did not. However, responding to several fan questions on her Instagram post, Matten did indeed confirm that there would not be another season of the show.
UPDATE: Discovery Canada have now confirmed this report. 💔
